We at CYFA are excited to announce a new format to our tackle football season that will not only help our players improve, but our coaches and parents as well:

2016 Tackle Football Format

• As part of registration with CYFA and included in the registration fee, you will be registered for the Centennial Youth Football Camp run by the Centennial Varsity staff and players.  This camp will be the official kickoff to the season and will get CYFA players AND coaches learning the fundamentals of tackle football directly from the Varsity staff and players. Below are the dates/times for each grade level:
  • 2nd-4th grade camp August 1st-4th 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • 5th-6th grade camp August 1st-4th 6:45pm-7:45pm
  • 7th and 8th grade camp- July 25th-28th 6pm-7:15pm

• Teams will be formed on Monday August 8th and there will be grade wide practices on Tuesday August 9 and Thursday August 11. These practices will be set up to continue on with the fundamentals learned from the camp the week before, but this time led by the CYFA coaches of each grade. 
• Official team practice will begin the week of August 15. Games start in September and the season ends sometime in October.
• Flag Football will run similar to last year and another email will be sent out on that structure as we get closer to the season.

This new structure will give CYFA players and coaches two weeks of consistent fundamentals training and help reach our goal of building a stronger football program.   

Other CYFA Updates

• Lights at Centennial Middle School Field: Our goal is to have lights installed before the upcoming football season.  Lights on the middle school field will give us more flexibility in scheduling and a better football facility. 
• CYFA Registration Begins May 1 and ends July 1: Online registration for Centennial Youth Football will start May 1 and in order to get everything accomplished we want to in a timely manner we will be closing down registration on July 1.  
• 2016 CYFA Registration Fee Structure: Our goal as a volunteer non-profit association is to keep registration costs as low as we can while providing maximum value.  Saying that you will find that football registration fees are one of the lowest of any youth sport.  For 2016, Flag Football costs $60, 2nd-6th grade tackle costs $150 and 7th-8th grade tackle football costs $175.  If you have any questions on how that registration fee is determined click here to get a full understanding of our costs as an association.
